Driving conditions in Illinois
Chicago winters bring road salt and potholes, and city stop-and-go driving adds wear that the odometer does not show.
Road salt and freeze-thaw potholes are the defining conditions. Struts, control arms, wheel bearings and steering components wear faster on broken pavement. Rust itself is not a covered failure under a service contract, but the mechanical parts that wear out on rough, salted roads are.
