- Turbocharger and superchargerThe turbocharger or supercharger housing and internal parts, the wastegate actuator and, on higher tiers, the intercooler.
- EngineThe engine block, cylinder heads and the internally lubricated parts inside them: pistons, crankshaft, camshafts, timing chain, oil pump and valve train.
- TransmissionThe transmission case and internal parts, the torque converter, valve body and, on most plans, the transmission control module. Automatic, manual, CVT and dual-clutch units are all eligible.
How much factory warranty is left on your Veloster?
Estimate only, assuming the car was first sold early in its model year. Your in-service date is on your registration or available from a dealer.
Hyundai Veloster factory warranty
New Hyundai vehicles typically come with basic coverage for 5 years or 60,000 miles and powertrain coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage starts on the date the vehicle was first sold. Terms can differ by model year, so confirm yours in the warranty booklet or with a Hyundai dealer.
The long powertrain term applies to the original owner. If you bought your Hyundai Veloster used, the powertrain coverage that transfers to you is generally shorter.
The Veloster is no longer sold new in the US, so most examples are close to or beyond the end of factory coverage.
Why body style matters
Hatchbacks are mechanically close to small sedans, with one driven axle and modest weight. That generally keeps coverage affordable, though small turbocharged engines are increasingly common.
Turbocharged engine
A turbocharger spins at very high speed and runs hot. Turbo failure, wastegate and boost-control faults, intercooler leaks and carbon build-up on direct-injection engines are the common problems. Check that the turbocharger is named in the contract, because some basic powertrain plans leave it out.
About Hyundai
Hyundai's 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty is for the original owner only. If you bought your Hyundai used, powertrain coverage is generally limited to the 5-year, 60,000-mile term from the original sale date.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Hyundai Veloster eligible for extended coverage?
Eligibility depends on the vehicle's year and mileage, and each provider sets its own limits. Because the Veloster is no longer sold new, older examples may qualify only for powertrain-level plans.
Which coverage level fits a Hyundai Veloster?
If the turbocharged engine and transmission are your main concern, a powertrain plan covers them. If you also want air conditioning, electrical parts and electronics covered, look at a mid-level or comprehensive plan.
How much does a Hyundai Veloster extended warranty cost?
Price depends on the model year, mileage, coverage level, deductible and your ZIP code. Request a quote with your details for an actual price.
