How much factory warranty is left on your Ioniq?
Estimate only, assuming the car was first sold early in its model year. Your in-service date is on your registration or available from a dealer.
Hyundai Ioniq factory warranty
New Hyundai vehicles typically come with basic coverage for 5 years or 60,000 miles and powertrain coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage starts on the date the vehicle was first sold. Terms can differ by model year, so confirm yours in the warranty booklet or with a Hyundai dealer.
The long powertrain term applies to the original owner. If you bought your Hyundai Ioniq used, the powertrain coverage that transfers to you is generally shorter.
The Ioniq is no longer sold new in the US, so most examples are close to or beyond the end of factory coverage.
Why body style matters
Hatchbacks are mechanically close to small sedans, with one driven axle and modest weight. That generally keeps coverage affordable, though small turbocharged engines are increasingly common.
Hybrid system
A hybrid adds a high-voltage battery, an inverter, one or more motor-generators and an electric air-conditioning compressor. The hybrid battery usually has its own long factory warranty. Many extended plans exclude the battery but cover the inverter and motors, so read that section carefully.
Plug-in hybrid system
A plug-in hybrid has the parts of a gas car and of an electric car: engine, transmission, a larger battery, an onboard charger and a charge port. Ask specifically whether the onboard charger and high-voltage components are covered.
Electric drivetrain
An electric vehicle has no engine oil, spark plugs or multi-speed transmission. What can fail is the drive unit, the onboard charger, the DC-DC converter, the heat pump and the battery cooling system, plus the same suspension, steering and electronics as any car. Only some plans accept EVs, and battery capacity loss is not covered.
About Hyundai
Hyundai's 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty is for the original owner only. If you bought your Hyundai used, powertrain coverage is generally limited to the 5-year, 60,000-mile term from the original sale date.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Hyundai Ioniq eligible for extended coverage?
Eligibility depends on the vehicle's year and mileage, and each provider sets its own limits. Because the Ioniq is no longer sold new, older examples may qualify only for powertrain-level plans.
Which coverage level fits a Hyundai Ioniq?
If the hybrid system and transmission are your main concern, a powertrain plan covers them. If you also want air conditioning, electrical parts and electronics covered, look at a mid-level or comprehensive plan.
How much does a Hyundai Ioniq extended warranty cost?
Price depends on the model year, mileage, coverage level, deductible and your ZIP code. Request a quote with your details for an actual price.
