Volvo XC70 factory warranty
New Volvo vehicles typically come with basic coverage for 4 years or 50,000 miles and powertrain coverage for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage starts on the date the vehicle was first sold. Terms can differ by model year, so confirm yours in the warranty booklet or with a Volvo dealer.
The XC70 is no longer sold new in the US, so most examples are close to or beyond the end of factory coverage.
Why body style matters
Wagons share their running gear with the sedan or crossover they are based on. Many have all-wheel drive, which adds a rear differential and a center coupling to the parts list.
Naturally aspirated gas engine
A conventional gas engine has no turbocharger, which removes one expensive part. The costly failures are internal: timing chain components, head gaskets, oil pumps and, on direct-injection engines, the high-pressure fuel pump. Powertrain-level plans cover these internally lubricated parts.
