Pontiac G6 factory warranty
Pontiac was a discontinued General Motors brand, and US sales ended around 2010. Every Pontiac G6 on the road is long past its factory warranty, so any mechanical failure is paid out of pocket unless a service contract is in place. Age and mileage limits differ by provider, and older vehicles may qualify only for powertrain-level coverage.
Why body style matters
Sedans are the least demanding body style mechanically. There is one driven axle on most, no transfer case and less weight for the brakes and suspension to manage, so plan prices are usually at the lower end.
Naturally aspirated gas engine
A conventional gas engine has no turbocharger, which removes one expensive part. The costly failures are internal: timing chain components, head gaskets, oil pumps and, on direct-injection engines, the high-pressure fuel pump. Powertrain-level plans cover these internally lubricated parts.
